Classic Shooters Receive Unexpected Release on PlayStation Consoles

Microsoft has unexpectedly made two beloved first-person shooters available for download on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles through the PlayStation Store. The surprise release includes the Heretic + Hexen bundle, priced at $14.99, encompassing previously released expansions alongside entirely new episodes developed by Nightdive Studios.
According to Mike Rubits of id Software, the fresh content expands upon both games. “Faith Renewed” introduces a brand-new episode for Heretic, while “Vestiges of Grandeur” adds an original chapter to Hexen. These additions are designed to emulate the style of previous re-releases, presenting players with a novel experience built utilizing existing technology but unbound by limitations imposed by the games’ original hardware from three decades ago.
