Google Pixel Watch 4 Leaks Reveal Enhanced GPS Tracking and Extended Battery Life

The inclusion of dual-frequency GPS represents a significant advancement, promising improved precision when measuring distance and pace during activities such as running and cycling. This technology is already prevalent in high-end sports watches and premium smartwatches like the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra. The upgrade caters specifically to runners, hikers, and cyclists seeking detailed performance data.
Beyond GPS improvements, leaked details indicate a substantial boost in battery life compared to its predecessor. The smaller 41mm model is projected to offer approximately 30 hours of use on a single charge, while the larger 45mm variant aims for an impressive 40 hours – both a considerable leap from the 24-hour battery life found in the Pixel Watch 3. The devices will also feature a side-mounted charging dock and a bright 3,000 nit Actua 360 display.
Google is scheduled to unveil its new lineup of products at a “Made by Google” event on August 20th, including the highly anticipated Pixel 10 series—which comprises models such as the Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. While the Pixel Watch 4 is expected to be officially announced alongside these devices, current speculation suggests a release date for consumer purchase may not arrive until September or October.
