Google’s Upcoming Hardware Event: Pixel 10, Pixel Watch 4 and Beyond Expected

With the annual “Made by Google” hardware event rapidly approaching on August 20th, anticipation is building regarding the new devices set to be unveiled. While product announcements remain largely predictable, details surrounding upcoming hardware are emerging through leaks and preliminary indications from Google itself.
The centerpiece of this year’s showcase is widely expected to be a refreshed Pixel phone lineup, specifically the standard Pixel 10. Rumors suggest substantial upgrades for this model, most notably the inclusion of a dedicated telephoto lens – a feature previously exclusive to the “Pro” variants. Preliminary designs indicate this will add a third rear camera, although its resolution may not match the higher-end 48MP zoom capabilities found in the Pro models. This addition would place the Pixel 10’s photographic capabilities on par with competing devices like the Samsung Galaxy S25 within the same price bracket. Other potential modifications include a less advanced ultrawide camera compared to its predecessor and integration of Google’s Tensor G5 chip, promising enhancements to artificial intelligence functionalities. Discrepancies in reports suggest the G5 processor may utilize either a 3nm or a continued 4nm fabrication process. The return of Google’s characteristic camera bar, previously omitted from earlier models like the Pixel 9a, is also anticipated along with a familiar 6.3-inch display size.
Google has already released several teasers hinting at the new design, aligning with circulating rumors and emphasizing the inclusion of the third rear lens. Subsequent promotional materials appear to subtly critique Apple’s approach to AI integration, signaling that enhanced AI capabilities will be a prominent feature of the upcoming Pixel devices.
Beyond the standard model, Google is likely to introduce updated “Pro” versions, potentially maintaining last year’s screen sizes: 6.3 inches for the Pixel 10 Pro, 6.8 inches for the Pixel 10 Pro XL, and a foldable Pixel 10 Pro Fold echoing the design of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7. The foldable model may incorporate an expanded cover display relative to its predecessor while retaining an 8-inch internal screen. Display improvements are also anticipated across the Pro models with enhancements to Pulse Modulation Dimming technology, aimed at reducing eye strain. A vapor cooling chamber and larger batteries, intended to bridge the battery life gap between Pixel phones and leading competitors like Apple and Samsung, are also expected for the Pro lineup.
Following closely behind the Pixel phone releases, a new iteration of the Pixel Watch is anticipated – the Pixel Watch 4. Leaked images suggest a slightly thicker design with reduced bezels, while maintaining the 41mm and 45mm size options introduced in the previous generation. Specific feature details for the Pixel Watch 4 remain scarce.
