GPT-5 Integration with Apple’s AI Suite Expected This Fall

Apple has confirmed that its artificial intelligence platform, Apple Intelligence, will eventually incorporate OpenAI’s forthcoming GPT-5 model. Currently, Apple Intelligence leverages GPT-4, and ChatGPT remains the sole external AI system powering the suite since its initial launch. Speculation regarding potential integration of Google’s Gemini technology persists; however, for now, Apple is focused on upgrading to GPT-5.

According to information shared with 9to5Mac by Zac Hall, this transition will coincide with the release of iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS Tahoe – all slated for a later rollout this fall. The shift promises enhanced functionalities and features for Apple Intelligence users. At present, GPT-4 provides improvements to Apple Intelligence across four distinct operational areas.
