Noctua Unveils Custom RTX 5080 Featuring Signature Cooling Technology

Austrian manufacturer Noctua has officially unveiled its collaboration with Asus on a custom-designed RTX 5080 graphics card, characterized by its distinctive aesthetic and focus on quiet operation. While previously previewed earlier this year, the full specifications have now been released, although pricing remains unannounced.
The new card distinguishes itself through the inclusion of three 120mm Noctua NF A12X25 G2 fans – a notable feature according to Noctua, though similar configurations exist in pre-built systems from other manufacturers. The design incorporates a custom heatsink featuring a vapor chamber and an array of heatpipes measuring both 8mm and 6mm in diameter.
“We’ve created a solution that delivers exceptional performance with impressively low noise levels,” stated Kent Chen, general manager and corporate vice president at Asus. Noctua claims the card achieves quieter operation compared to competing models like the TUF Gaming RTX 5080 and ROG Astral 5080 while maintaining comparable or improved GPU and VRAM temperatures. This is achieved through a fan speed differential: two fans operate slightly slower, while the central fan spins at a faster rate. A demonstration video released by Noctua highlights these performance characteristics.
This partnership marks an expansion of a successful collaboration between Noctua and Asus, building upon previous special edition cards including variants of the RTX 4080 Super, RTX 4080, RTX 3080, RTX 3070 OC, and standard RTX 3070. These prior releases also incorporated Noctua’s signature cream and brown color scheme. A similar design aesthetic is present in Silent Master’s RTX 5070 Ti, though that model isn’t currently available outside of certain markets.
