Sixunited Introduces Laptop Featuring Cutting-Edge AMD Processor and Extended Battery Life - readd.org 2025

A Shanghai-based laptop manufacturer, Sixunited, is among the first to incorporate AMD’s Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 APU – also known as Strix Halo – into a notebook computer, preceding announcements from established brands like Dell and Lenovo. The newly revealed XN77-160M-CS model showcases the advanced chip, which features 16 cores, integrated Navi 3.5 graphics, and a powerful 50 TOPS Neural Processing Unit (NPU). While still relatively uncommon in laptops, the Strix Halo APU has previously appeared in models from HP, such as the ZBook Ultra G1a, and Asus’ ROG Flow Z13.

Sixunited is offering the laptop with two power configurations: 85W and 120W, both supported by a dual-fan cooling solution. The system utilizes non-upgradable LPDDR5X memory operating at speeds up to 8000 MT/s, complemented by storage options including up to two PCIe 4.0×4 SSDs in the M.2 2280 format for substantial and rapid data access.

A standout feature of the XN77-160M-CS is its exceptionally large 99.9Wh battery – approaching the maximum capacity permitted by most airlines. Despite this high energy storage, the laptop maintains a relatively lightweight design, weighing less than 1.8kg and constructed from aluminum and mylar materials. The device features a 16-inch display with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels, a 165Hz refresh rate, and full sRGB color gamut coverage, with an OLED variant planned for release at a later date.

According to Videocardznotes, the XN77-160M-CS is offered as a barebones design, suggesting it may be rebranded by other manufacturers – a common practice given Sixunited’s role as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) supplier. Pricing details are currently unavailable; however, based on comparable models, it is anticipated to command a premium price point. For perspective, Asus’ laptop featuring the AI MAX+ 395 starts at $2099, while HP’s offering begins at $4099.

The introduction of Sixunited’s model contributes an additional choice for consumers prioritizing portability, power, and extended battery performance in a compact form factor. It also underscores the expanding adoption of AMD’s Strix Halo platform, which has largely been utilized to date in miniature desktop computers, such as the GMKTec EVO-X2, Beelink AI Mini, and AOOSTAR NEX395.
