SpaceX Aims for Early Thursday Starlink Launch from Florida's Space Coast - readd.org 2025

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled to lift off Thursday morning, carrying another set of Starlink satellites into orbit. The mission, originating from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, currently has a targeted launch window opening no earlier than 8:29 a.m. EDT on August 14th, with the possibility of extending to 10:47 a.m. if necessary.

The Falcon 9 will ascend along a northeastern trajectory following liftoff. Residents in the vicinity can expect to hear the rocket’s rumble but are unlikely to experience any sonic booms. Approximately eight minutes after launch, the first stage booster is slated to return and land on the “Just Read the Instructions” drone ship stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

Starlink represents SpaceX’s initiative to provide satellite-based internet access globally. These launches play a vital role in expanding that network’s capabilities.

Live updates will be provided on this page beginning 90 minutes prior to the scheduled liftoff time. Reporting for Florida Today, Space Reporter Brooke Edwards can be reached at bedwards@floridatoday.com or followed on X @brookeofstars.
