Ulefone’s Rugged Armor 29 Ultra Boasts Large Camera Sensor and Massive Battery

lefone has introduced the Armor 29 Ultra, a new flagship camera phone within its line of durable devices known for their rugged construction and extended battery life. While positioned above models such as the Armor 30, 33, and 34 in Ulefone’s current product range, it succeeds the Armor 28 Ultra. Notably, the Armor 29 Ultra distinguishes itself by incorporating a large-format 1-inch image sensor for its primary camera – a feature shared with high-end smartphones from brands like Huawei and Vivo.

The primary camera utilizes a Sony IMX989 sensor with 50 megapixels, one of the largest available in mobile devices. This places it favorably compared to forthcoming models from competitors including Samsung’s Galaxy series, Apple’s iPhone lineup, and Google’s Pixel range when assessed solely on sensor size. The phone also supports 8K video recording and includes a 50MP ultrawide camera utilizing a Samsung JN1 sensor, along with a 64MP infrared night vision camera assisted by four IR LEDs. A 50MP front-facing camera caters to selfie photography, complemented by a dedicated physical camera button for instant access from the lock screen.

Visuals are displayed on a vibrant 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The panel boasts a wide DCI-P3 color gamut and a high refresh rate of 120Hz, alongside peak brightness reaching 2200 nits for clear visibility in bright conditions. An integrated 1.04-inch AMOLED touchscreen embedded within the camera island offers customizable watch faces or quick access to features like music controls and notifications.

A defining characteristic is the Armor 29 Ultra’s substantial 21,200mAh battery – a capacity exceeding many standalone power banks. It promises up to 27 hours of continuous video playback, 114 hours of talk time, or an impressive 1140 hours in standby mode. The device supports 120W ultra-fast charging, capable of replenishing 20% of the battery in just 10 minutes, and also offers 10W reverse charging for powering other devices.

Built to withstand demanding conditions, the Armor 29 Ultra adheres to IP68/IP69K ingress protection standards and MIL-STD-810H military specifications. It’s designed to resist water submersion up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes, shock resistance from drops of up to 1.5 meters, and general wear and tear. A powerful integrated LED light, emitting 1000 lumens from 570 LEDs, provides adjustable illumination, alongside separate red and blue warning lights suitable for emergency signaling. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset paired with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, facilitated by an advanced graphene cooling system to maintain performance under heavy load.

The Ulefone Armor 29 Ultra is slated for global release on August 18 and is currently available for pre-order on Amazon at a price point of $1099.99 in the United States and £799.99 in the United Kingdom.
